In July, 1970 I was driving down to the coast with a mate, when about 10 miles
south of Guildford we saw purple glowing balls floating down out of the sky
like balloons.
They began exploding on the road in front of us, but I kept going
for another three miles when one exploded in front of me and I had to turn
around quick.
There were about 20 other vehicles on that road at the time and I knew it was ball lightning but did not realise that it's very rare.
Does anyone remember seeing it that night?
reg.
