The following images have now been made available of the UFO observed above Río Cuarto, in the province of Córdoba, on the night of January 14. The Argentina Air Force is currently investigating this incident, after one of its own air traffic controllers witnessed the aerial phenomenon. It has requested collaboration with the Comisión Nacional de Actividades Espaciales (Conae) and if it were necessary, NASA. The mysterious appearance of a unidentified flying object in Río Cuarto, Córdoba, on Monday night, January 14, "did not correspond to any airship of conventional type", according to an Argentine Air Force spokesman.
Numerous inhabitants of the area said a UFO of great size and with "yellowish light", could be seen above the city at around 22:30 hours while it made elliptical movements at great speed.
Carlos Oyola, press spokesman for the Argentine Air Force, assured listeners of Radio Río Cuarto that at that hour there were no planned flights of either civil airplanes or military.
An ATC Air Force controller also observed the craft in the sky and tried to make radio contact with it but failed to receive an answer.
Oyola confirmed that "there has been a visual [sighting] on the part of one of the control tower operators, of an object that did not correspond to either a commercial or military aircraft, nor it did not correspond to either one of the satellites that are usually seen".
Although the Air Force confirmed that an unidentified object was seen in the sky, the spokesman avoided describing it as a craft of extraterrestrial origin.
