HBCC UFO Research Note: Now this is a really interesting sighting report since there appears to have been more people who witnessed this object as the person reporting mentions the radio station carried a news story on this craft being observed by others. I would like to request from other who were in that area at the time and if they saw this craft, would you please be kind enough to contact me here at HBCC UFO Research with the details of what you saw. Thank you, Brian.
I recall I was 8 or 10 years old and playing by myself in our back yard on the west side of Tuc-el-Nuit Lake. I was not looking at the lake but was facing north. A movement over my right shoulder caught my attention and I turned towards the lake.
Flying very low above the lake and coming from the south was a very strange looking airplane. It had no wings, no propeller, was the same shape top and bottom and made no sound. The size was a bit bigger than any plane I'd seen before and the only planes I had seen were small private planes. I'd never been to a big airport. The colour a silver grey. The lake was only half a mile wide at that point so "the plane" was quite close and only about three times as high as our rooftop. If it had been a float plane I would have expected it to be landing at the far end of the lake. It was moving only a little faster than I would have expected a plane to fly. I watched it continue up the lake then went back to my playing.
Later when I went in the house I told my mother about the strange plane I'd seen. A short time later she heard on the 5:00 pm news that a "flying saucer" had been seen by a great many people flying north up the Okanagan Valley. It fit the description of what I'd seen so she told me about it. The radio station was CKOK Penticton.
I wasn't overly impressed as I'd never even heard of flying saucers. My parents were aware of them but it was never a topic that they had any reason to discuss. To me it was just a funny looking airplane. In fact, if it had not been on the news I doubt that I would have remembered it as the years went by. Of course to see it now would be very exciting and I would pay a lot more attention!
Over the years I've looked at archives of sightings in B.C. but have never seen mention of that event. That surprises me a bit since several people apparently reported it to the radio station at the time.
Unfortunately I can't give the exact year. I just know it was after 1950 and before 1960. It was around the time that my parents were part of a team of volunteers that had to report any planes they heard or saw during their shift. My parents shift was midnight to 2 A.M.. Both being teachers they used the time to mark papers! Years later when I asked why they were doing that, they couldn't remember what it was about but that it was being done in more areas than Oliver.
Around that same time period there was another sighting in the sky that I noted but did not think about more than just briefly. I was in the same area of Oliver playing with some friends. This was early afternoon in the summer. They were standing above me on a mound of dirt and as I was looking at them I noticed three bright lights in the sky to the north. They looked like very bright stars and formed a small triangle. We all watched them for a while but they didn't move so we went on playing. Over the next half hour whenever we looked up they were there. Since I remembered my father saying that as a boy in Alert Bay (1920's) he and a friend once watched several unmoving "stars" for a whole afternoon I just assumed that we also were looking at stars. Yes we knew that it was unusual to see stars in the daylight. The reason I remembered the event was that I was pleased that I'd seen something special that my dad had seen when he was about my age. Since then I've looked for stars in the daytime sky when the air is very clear but have never seen any.

HBCC UFO Research Note: The sister for the below report is referring to her sisters sighting:

This is a bit of an unusual addition to a report you posted earlier. My older sister submitted the report "Tuc-El-Nuit Lake Oliver, British Columbia 1950s Flying Saucer". She emailed me to take a look at this site, and I read her submission. Now, it gets a bit strange.
This was the very first time I heard about her seeing this event. That in itself is not particularly strange, but I saw something similar, and she did not know of my sighting nor I hers! Reading her report was a bit of a shock, to say the least.
What follows is a description of what I saw sometime between 1954 and 58. I was somewhere between 4 and 8 years old. It was a bright day with a solid high overcast, and I believe in the afternoon. No wind and a warm day.
I was outside by the lake shore, facing south. Something attracted my attention and I looked up high to my left in time to see three objects streak towards the south. They were moving much faster than any ducks flew, and were absolutely silent. There was no flapping of wings or any body movement whatsoever. They did not appear to be descending, but got smaller as they flew out of sight behind a row of Poplar trees about 100M away.
There were three objects, flying in a "V" formation. They looked to me at the time like ducks with no tails and very short stubby wings. They were dark in colour and I saw no markings or distinguishable features. My age and lack of any other reference led me to assume they were just weird birds. What seemed unusual to me at the time other than the weird shape was the speed and silence of their flight.
They appeared to me as ducks would look if they were flying 10 or 15 M above my head. I should have seen details and heard the murmuring that ducks make as they fly. I told my Mom and Dad about the "ducks". They questioned me but couldn't really come to any satisfactory conclusions and we just shrugged and moved on.
My sister and I talked about these events for the first time today. Neither of us were aware of the other's sighting. We are not really able to figure out who saw what first, but we are both certain that we did not know of each other's story. We are equally certain that we saw what we saw, and are not "remembering" a story we heard from the other.
FYI. Tuc-el-nuit Lake is, according to Indian legend, the birthplace of Ogopogo. He apparently swam up the Okanagan river to Okanagan Lake. The "Okanagan Arch" is also visible from this area.

My next door neighbor and I also had some involvement with the Clovis UFO. I also knew Steve Muscato, the photographer who took the original picture for the local newspaper. His photo is of the stationary object that hung directly over Clovis for several days. I believe it occurred over quite a few days. There was one stationary light, in addition to other moving objects that many people saw. Plus, there was a photo in the paper of a mystery object found in a field. At the time, I was 14 years old. My next door neighbor Bob was an Air Force electronics technician who was an amateur ham radio operator and amateur astronomer. He and I spent a night on the top floor of the Hotel Clovis observing the UFO hanging in the sky. He used some sort of equipment to determine how high in the sky the stationary object was.
He excitedly reported that in his judgment the object was approximately 300 miles above the Earth. I also took some photos, but I no longer have them. Bob was told to shut up by the base and quit "exciting the locals with wild stories." Bob didn't tell me about this, but his wife later related the story of the phone call he got from his boss, to my mother. I also heard stories of guys coming from "Project Blue Book" to investigate, but my Dad, an Air Force master sergeant, said that was ridiculous because Project Blue Book didn't exist. As an adult, I served a number of years in the Air Force and my job put me in contact with virtually every plane in the U.S. and NATO inventory. Some have claimed that the UFOs were British harrier jets.
Absolutely not so. I grew up around jets my whole life and could identify them even as a child. Neither were they weather balloons. I would have to research, but I'm not sure the harriers were even operational at that time. In all reality, one has to try very hard in order to mistake a jet fighter for anything else. The whole thing was very interesting, and ended as mysteriously as it started. There was no real closure. But if you recall, Clovis was part of a rather massive UFO "scare" that occurred for a few years nationwide, beginning with the incident at Pasagoula, Miss, I think a couple of years earlier. It was a busy time for UFO activity.

I wanted to comment on a article in reference to Munchweiler Germany sighting. I was also with my father and stationed in Munchweiler from 1982 to 1985. I knew a (name removed) who lived in the stairwell that was mentioned in the article. My father was stationed on this post - not parmesans. Between this building and the school a "BMX track" was constructed by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers in late 1983. We spent a lot of time on that thing.
One night myself and a friend were in front of this building and over the mountain on the "German Town" side we noticed lights flying over the hill. The colors were different than normal aircraft lights and there was not a bit of noise. We took special notice to this because a lot of the times Nato aircraft would fly over on there way to France since Munchweiler in on the border. That night it was completely silent.
I never said a word to anyone about this until now and reading this article. This is very interesting and just wanted to pass this on. I lived one building behind the one that is mentioned. If you go to Google earth and place yourself in front of the building that is in question by the school, then rotate to ground level you will see the mountain that I am speaking of.

Sorry to be fuzzy on the exact date but it was along time ago and after our encounter we came into the house and each drew our rendition of what we saw. I'm in the process of looking for our drawings from that night. The reason we were out in the yard at that hour was it was supposed to be one of the best nights in decades to see meteor showers. We weren't disappointed and had some long colorful shooting stars fill up the sky as we laid on sleeping bags in our backyard (actually on the driveway for the clearest view). My husband was getting frustrated because he kept missing the awesome ones I was seeing because he had been looking the other way. This went on a few times until finally he said tell me exactly where you're looking and I'll look there too. All of a sudden from our far left (east facing direction) we saw a dark shape in the sky. It was a triangle of sorts with a bit of a curve to the shape. Our two drawings did not totally match the outer shape but the body.
What did match was the fact that there were perfectly round holes going across the body of this thing in rows. The object was black but the holes looked even darker in color, it moved quite slowly straight across the sky and made no noise what-so-ever. We both exclaimed,"what the heck is that" and watched it go across our sight line and disappear behind the roof of the house. We probably watched it for about 10 seconds and were not able to figure out how high it was or how big it was because there was nothing to compare it too. If there had been a sound it might have helped us gauge how high up it was. If it was a toy of some kind it still would have made a sound. We were completely blown away and happy that both of us had seen because we knew no one would believe it. I called our local observatory the following day hoping others had seen it and there was an explanation but they politely told me to chalk it up to a unique experience. We've never forgotten this and have never seen anything else unusual in our lives, but reading an article on you in our local paper today and seeing the reference to a triangle object made me want to write and share our story. It would sure be nice to know what this thing was.

I was watching a movie, paused it and went outside to smoke a colt. I noticed a light red pink tinge object in the sky over Okanagan Lake. I grabbed my handy cam and began to film it. The object moved out of frame and I took my eye out of the viewfinder so I could try and find the object in the sky. I did but it was smaller. I began to film again only this time the object moved around in quick sprits and then simply fades out.
I have showed family and friends and they all seem to have mixed opinions on what it could be. But, we all agree that what ever the object is, it defiantly needs some kind of scientific explanation.
I heard about your site from a program I watched on the space channel. The program was based on UFO spottings in Kelowna. Some ladies went for a late evening drive and saw a UFO and aliens or something.....I thought if I wasn't the only one from around here spotting UFO's, I might as well e-mail you and tell you about my story and show you the footage I got. Weird thing is I remember the object was the same colour as the object I spotted last June.
My friend and I also saw what we believe was a UFO years ago in Kelowna over Okanagan Lake from the Eldorado development in the mission.

I thought I'd put in my own two cents on the Ontario Green Meteor story. I was on Highway 4 just coming into Flesherton, Ontario, and stop at a phone booth. While I was on the phone, looking west, I suddenly saw a green-to-blue-to-white streak low on the horizon, traveling north to south. "Wow!.. I said, and I repeated "Wow!.... and said to the person on the line "Just give a second I just saw something" as I left the phone and followed the trajectory. I got a real good view of the meteor 5 or 6 seconds in all. I checked my car clock and it said approx. 8:00 p.m. I've been meaning to check the web since then for sighting reports. You say there are media reports of this event? I can't seem to find any. Thanks for your postings. It's especially interesting to read the account from the guy in Stoney Creek who says he knows where it landed! Any information on an actual discovery, crater, fragments ?

HBCC UFO Research Note: The witness is going to send along the footage of what was caught on film so I can have a look at it.
My 9 year old son and I were standing on a second story balcony and we were facing east. The sun was to our backs and it was still light out, around 7:15 pm. We saw this black object about 30 feet long that was moving from the south to the north right over the middle of town. If I would hold my hand out the object would be about has big as a fat grain of rice at my finger tips. This object made no sound and was moving at about 40 MPH, very slow. It was only about 1 mile away at the most. I ran into my kitchen and grabbed my JVC digital movie camera and captured just a few seconds of this object before it went behind a leafless tree. My camera then started to focus on the tree and then I could not see it any more. But in the video you could still see this black dot. I feel so lucky to have captured what I did. The very last time I used this camera was for Christmas at my parents so I have footage of Santa handing out presents and then a UFO going behind a tree.
Sometime in January I believe my ex-wife and the same son saw a black object just floating very slowly above Manhattan just before midnight. This object was black and had a very large floodlight on it shining horizontally. My son said that it was very big and it looked like a batman symbol being projected into the clouds. I'm wondering if it was projecting a beam down to the ground or into someone's home. They both said it left going straight up. They watched it for about a minute. I am so glad she saw this because she has never been a believer.

As with the person from Canmore Ab., I also saw this enormous light on the same date and time. I was on my way to go to town around 9:00 pm. I take the 1A highway going East to reach Cochrane. As I was just getting ready to turn onto the highway I looked left (which is towards Canmore) and saw this huge star! It was like nothing I have ever seen as part of the normal night sky.
I decided to park at the exit of our place just watch this thing. I must have waited for a good five minutes and then left for town. I should also mention that the color of this object was not like anything else in the night sky. It was a brilliant white but also had a tinge of yellow in it.

My wife, daughter, and I were driving southbound Saturday evening and saw a large green fireball (?) high in the sky to our right which was headed approximately South-Southeast. To me the most amazing part was that it was still dusk and not fully dark, and the sky was overcast, yet all three of us clearly saw this very bright object through the clouds for 3-5 seconds. It must have been very bright to be seen through the clouds, brighter than the full moon.
When trying to see if others reported it online, I was very surprised with the high number of green fireballs that have been seen in the last couple of months! I wonder what it could mean?

I had gone outside to look at the full moon. The sky was packed with dense patches of clouds moving west to east. The full moon was high toward the south and clearly visible through an enormous circular hole in the clouds. It was a beautiful sight and I stood looking at it for a few minutes. I had just turned away from the moon to head back inside when, to the NNW, I heard an enormously loud (jet?) engine and looked up to see a very low, slow-moving craft passing overhead between the ridges of the hollow where I live. This craft was just above treetop level and for all the world looked like a plane that had slowed down and was getting ready to land. The only problem is, there is no landing field anywhere around here. Very flew planes of any kind fly over my house (except chemtrailers, of course, high up). I live in the middle of forest, farm, and wild land, hilly wooded country, in southwestern Virginia.
I spent a few seconds being befuddled, wondering why any airplane would be there at all, looking like it was going to land. Then I noticed that it wasn't an ordinary plane. There were three stationary red lights and one blinking white light. The red lights were laid out as if this were a triangle, one at the nose, the other two spaced out behind, as if at corners. The blinking white light was in the middle, above the plane of the red lights. I could perceive no physical shape connecting the lights. The craft was not huge, not bigger than a normal commercial plane, but not small either.
It all happened quickly. I am absolutely sure it was a craft flying low and slow and that the sound of (jet?) engines was very loud. I am sure there were 3 red lights and one blinking white light. Aren't most triangles silent? On the other side of the ridge in the direction it was headed is the Spring Hill Reservoir. Maybe it was going there to refuel on water?

Two gentlemen told me of a recent sighting of a bright white triangle shaped light over Whitby. Here's what both had described to me excitedly. On April 2, 2007, after swimming at the Oshawa Civic Parking lot-approx 10:15pm. One of the fellow's was exiting out of the parking lot by car. He said he stopped the car further in the parking lot facing west. He describes witnessing a bright white light in the shape of a "triangle". As he watched, a friend from swimming was exiting. He flagged him down to stop. Both men got out of the cars, and the fellow pointed this out to this person. They both watched in disbelief, saying again definitely triangular shaped and very bright. This object had the intensity of the moon. Both agreed it would be over Whitby's downtown area --Hwy 2 and Brock Street.
Now the distance would be 5-6 miles directly west. Both agreed there were clouds behind the object, thus below the cloud line. They watched it for a few minutes, then went home wondering. Both men now agree that something's up, at least over Whitby that night. The one fellow is a cab driver who first witnessed the object. I have related to this one fellow of what I have seen.
