Pelluco is a located around five kilometers to the east of Montt Port [Chile] and has been and has always been a summer place tsince its foundation.

Nevertheless the proverbial tranquillity was destroyed like a crystal Wednesday July 28, 1965 at 16:30 hours, when the train from Montt Osorno-Port collided with the automobile driven by Ignacio Proschle Angel. It seriously injured the train conductor and caused the death of 15 year old Carolina and her brother Carlos 9; children of Mrs. Filomena Angel and Don Agustín Proeschle, children of the late owners of the Llanquihue newspaper.

on the following night of of July 29/30, and just after midnight, a loud noise was heard in the sky at Montt Port and minutes later a telephone call from Pelluco to the Llanquihue newspaper was made warning of hearing the same. Some twenty people who attended velatorio [?] of the Proschle children had also listened to the prolonged noise in the sky without being able to determine its cause. However, they did see one mysterious light in the sky over Puert Montt, which disappeared quickly.

Testimonies
Arnoldo Flowers, a well-known sports leader, declared that "We felt an infernal noise that late winter night in Pelluco, while we accompanied féretro [?], and left to see what it was, when we saw something that left us overwhelmed. Because at a little over 80 or 100 meters, an oval ship of about 50 meters in diameter was there. It showed a shining light, violet in color with orange appearances... the ufo moved towards the city, where it was seen by more people and motorists".

Juan Agustín Proschle, brother of the deceased, remembers: "We saw at a little distance the object as a powerful light. It left us perplex and speechless for some seconds I would say... but the object was real..... Soon it was headed towards the city, where we confirmed with others that saw it".

Alexander Proschle, professor, also brother of the deceased said: "It was a strong noise, a rare sensation in fact. We went out and we saw it moving, although first it was suspended in the air. It gave off great sparkling multicolored lights that were astonishing. I could not tell what shape it was because it was at night and the light excited us. It appeared to settle in a gorge near Pelluco, but none of us wanted to follow the ship because we were afraid. The next day many people went to the place and saw the burned grass, the uprooted curdle trees and almost perfectly circular marks in the ground. That is an experience impossible to forget ".

The Martians
Omar Chávez, civil employee of the Home of the Children of Pelluco, indicated that in 1985, "A luminous ring was seen not only by me, but by several of the children. The boys in their lack of understanding began to sing "The Martians arrived already... arrived dancing ricachá...".

Pelluco es una localidad ubicada cinco kilómetros al oriente de Puerto Montt y ha sido y es lugar de veraneo, balneario y sitio de descanso desde los tiempos de fundación de la ciudad.

Sin embargo la tranquilidad proverbial del balneario se destrozó como un cristal el miércoles 28 de julio de 1965 a las 16:30 horas cuando el tren de carga Osorno-Puerto Montt, arrolló el automóvil conducido por Ignacio Proschle Angel, causando la muerte de la joven Carolina Proeschle Angel, de 15 años y heridas graves al conductor y a su hermano Carlos de 9 años, todos hijos de la señora Filomena Angel y de don Agustín Proeschle, entonces ya fallecido, que había sido Administrador del diario El Llanquihue.

En la noche del jueves 29 al viernes 30, recién pasada la medianoche, un fuerte ruido se sintió sobre el cielo de Puerto Montt y minutos después desde Pelluco se hizo un llamado telefónico a El Llanquihue avisando lo mismo. Una veintena de personas que asistían al velatorio de la joven Proschle habían escuchado un ruido fortísimo y prolongado que se sintió en el cielo sin que hubiera sido posible determinar su causa y que incluso vieron una viva luz en el cielo a la altura de Puert Montt, la cual desapareció rápidamente.

Testimonios
Arnoldo Flores, conocido dirigente deportivo, declaró que "Sentimos un ruido infernal aquella tarde de invierno en Pelluco, mientras acompañábamos el féretro, y salimos a ver de qué se trataba, cuando vimos algo que nos dejó atónitos, porque a escasos 80 o 100 metros, y a poca altura, una nave ovalada y de unos 50 metros de diámetro estaba allí. Mostraba una luz resplandeciente, color violeta con visos anaranjados...el ovni se desplazó hacia la ciudad, donde fue visto por otra gente y automovilistas a los que les descontroló el vehículo totalmente". Juan Agustín Proschle, hermano de la difunta, recuerda: "Vimos a poca distancia el objeto de una luz potente. Algo recorrió nuestras venas, que nos dejó perplejos y sin habla por algunos segundos diría yo...pero era todo real ese objeto, o lo que fuera, nunca lo habíamos visto y estaba allí. Luego se trasladó hacia la ciudad, donde corroboramos con otros puertomontinos que lo vieron, pero a más altura".

Alejandro Proschle, profesor, también hermano de la difunta: "Fue un fuerte ruido, una sensación rara en realidad, salimos a la calle y lo vimos como se desplazaba, aunque primero quedó suspendido en el aire. Grandes luces multicolores y destellantes que atraen y asombran. Sobre la forma no podría decir nada, porque era de noche y la luz nos encandilaba. Se posó en una quebrada cerca de Pelluco, pero ninguno de nosotros quiso seguir la nave porque nos dio miedo. Al otro día mucha gente fue al lugar y vio el pasto quemado, los árboles arrancados de cuajo y erosión en la tierra en forma circular, casi perfecta. Esa es una experiencia imposible de olvidar".

"Los marcianos"
Omar Chávez, funcionario del Hogar de Menores de Pelluco, señaló que en 1985 "un anillo luminoso fue visto no solamente por mí, sino que por varios niños. Los chicos en su incomprensión de niños comenzaron a cantar "Los marcianos llegaron ya...llegaron bailando ricachá...".
