Book adds new interpretation on the appearances to the three children in the Cova da Iria, 85 years later

It is not difficult to accept that on May 13 and October 13 of 1917, Jacinta, Francisco and Lúcia had witnessed the appearance of a feminine figure in the Cova da Iria, in Fátima [Portugal]. The postcard said: "Day 13 of the chain a fact regarding the war goes to give itself that will impress all strong people".

The Miracle of the Multiplication

What would have appeared unexpected to the visitors was the disinterest of science in analyzing the phenomenon and the exploitation made of it by the Catholic Church. In 1917 palavrinhas[?] was said only of "ones", that into 1927 if they had transformed into two secrets and 1942 in three. "The miracle of the multiplication was given", ironizam[?]. Não é difícil aceitar que de 13 de Maio a 13 de Outubro de 1917, Jacinta, Francisco e Lúcia presenciaram a aparição de uma figura feminina na Cova da Iria, em Fátima. Contudo, as divergências começam quando se discute a natureza do ser que comunicou com os três pastorinhos. Para a Igreja Católica não há dúvidas: a Nossa Senhora foi a figura das aparições. Já para Fina d'Armada e Joaquim Fernandes, os autores das obras "Intervenção extraterrestre em Fátima", "As aparições de Fátima e o fenómeno OVNI" e "Fátima: nos Bastidores do Segredo", "a mulherzinha com uma idade aproximada de 15 anos, com 1,10m de altura e emitindo sons como zumbido de abelha" não representa qualquer figura religiosa. Em suma, acreditam os autores, docentes de História e de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, respectivamente, o fenómeno poderá inscrever-se nas páginas da ovnilogia.

A hipótese pode parecer difícil de aceitar quando analisada à luz da realidade actual. Mas suponha que vive num tempo e numa civilização futura, onde se consegue obter o domínio pleno do teletransporte e graças ao controlo do envelhecimento das células ou a terapias genéticas revolucionárias se torna vulgar dobrar um século de vida. Não choca que façam parte deste mundo meios de transportes ultra-rápidos capazes de realizar viagens de enormes distâncias, nem é difícil imaginar que a curiosidade humana acabaria rapidamente por encontrar outros planetas e novas formas de vida, possivelmente inteligentes, com as quais desejaria entrar em contacto.

Perante este cenário, impõe-se a pergunta: o que seria indispensável à concretização de uma operação encarregue de planificar minuciosamente o contacto com outros seres planetários? Para Fina d'Armada e Joaquim Fernandes - criador do Centro Transdisciplinar de Estudos da Consciência da Universidade Fernando Pessoa, no Porto -, o anúncio da "Operação Fátima" seria uma das fases essenciais do contacto. Talvez o surpreenda, mas as aparições na Cova da Iria foram realmente anunciadas. A 7 de Fevereiro de 1917, Carlos Calderon, um "médium" famoso na época, recebeu uma mensagem sob a forma de escrita automática. Ficou registado na acta da reunião que "um dos assistentes pediu papel e lápis e automaticamente escreveu da direita para a esquerda uma comunicação que não se pôde ler senão com o emprego de um espelho". O conteúdo da mensagem referia que "a data de 13 de Maio será de grande alegria para os bons espíritas de todo o mundo". Outro pré-anúncio foi divulgado nas páginas da imprensa diária portuguesa no próprio dia 13. "O Primeiro de Janeiro", o "Jornal de Notícias" e o "Liberdade" publicaram um texto, datado da antevéspera, subscrito por um espírita de nome António, procedente do Porto. O postal enviado dizia: "Dia 13 do corrente vai dar-se um facto a respeito da guerra que impressionará fortemente toda a gente".

O milagre da multiplicação
Agora imagine que está encarregado de continuar a operação. Com certeza teria um especial cuidado na escolha e na preparação dos interlocutores desta experiência "visionária". Fina d'Armada e Joaquim Fernandes concluíram no seu livro "Fátima: nos Bastidores do Segredo" que esta preparação existiu. As pré-aparições foram descritas na época por pessoas que conviveram com Lúcia e mais tarde foram relatadas pela própria vidente. Os interrogatório oficiais de 1923 registaram as declarações da mãe de Lúcia: "No ano anterior ao das aparições ouviu a filha e a outras dizerem que tinham visto noutro lugar uma pessoa embrulhada num lençol". Há ainda mais três testemunhos que corroboram o mesmo. As conclusões dos autores apontam para a existência de quatro pré-aparições em 1916: duas com a dita Nossa Senhora e outras duas com vultos embrulhados num lençol.

Já sabemos que a "Operação Fátima" foi anunciada e os interlocutores previamente preparados. Mas como terá sido possível a comunicação entre seres de naturezas distintas? Carl Sagan, na obra "Contacto", propõe a matemática como linguagem universal destes contactos, mas no caso de Fátima não foi este o processo utilizado. Nos registos dos relatos de Lúcia com a Virgem Maria, a vidente refere que a ouviu falar, mas "uma luz interior lhe fazia compreender o sentido das palavras". No documento-chave do Processo Canónico de 1930 ficou redigido que "Lúcia durante o tempo da aparição parecia alheia a tudo quanto a rodeava, não tendo consciência do que lhe diziam e faziam ao pé dela, achando-se fora de si". Os historiadores concluíram que o processo aparicional de Fátima deverá ter passado por uma alteração do estado de consciência dos pequenos pastores, e que não existiu produção vocal ordinária, mas sim uma espécie de tradução simultânea e directa no cérebro dos videntes, um fenómeno já referenciado em alguns contactos alienígenas.

Mas o que deu a Fátima uma dimensão internacional, perpetuando o fenómeno até aos nossos dias? Se os portugueses não duvidam que "o segredo é a alma do negócio", Fina d'Armada e Joaquim Fernandes têm a certeza que o segredo foi a alma de Fátima. A estratégia deveria garantir o sucesso futuro do contacto. O que poderá ter surgido inesperado aos visitantes foi o desinteresse da ciência em analisar o fenómeno e o aproveitamento feito pela Igreja Católica. Em 1917 falava-se apenas de "umas palavrinhas", que em 1927 se transformaram em dois segredos e em 1942 em três. "Deu-se o milagre da multiplicação", ironizam. A esta evolução não terá sido indiferente a actuação do bispo de Leiria que, em 1921, tomou as rédeas das aparições e colocou a única vidente viva em quarentena, desterrando-a da sua terra e silenciando-a. Fina d'Armada e Joaquim Fernandes acreditam que os videntes nunca souberam qual era o segredo: "A ideia não era sabê-lo, mas transmitirem-no".

Apesar de reconhecerem que a hipótese "ovni" ainda não está comprovada, Fina d'Armada e Joaquim Fernandes não podem deixar de lembrar: "É tão absurdo conceber um campo de trigo com uma única espiga, como um mundo único no vasto Universo".
