U.F.O. DISCOVERED IN U.S. COAT OF ARMS

By James Aitken

The image of an unidentified flying object lies hidden in the symbols of the U. S. Coat of Arms, according to a new book.

Look closely at the mysterious circular object shining above the Eagle’s head. The object is described in encyclopedias and by the U. S. Government as a “Cloud”. But why is the Cloud there and what does it stand for?

In The Deeper Truth, author Richard Russell Cassaro theorizes the Cloud commemorates the manifestations on earth in the ancient past of a superior form of intelligent life. He sites evidence from two ancient sources, the Bible and ancient Egypt, to support his claim.

Below are four ancient passages from the Old and New Testaments that encompass almost the entire history of the nation of Israel (from the giving of the Ten Commandments to the coming of Jesus Christ). The passages describe in great detail the sudden comings and goings of the Cloud. Note how the Cloud consistently appears in the sky, always carrying within it the same powerful intelligence (God). The giving of the Ten Commandments is first:

And the Lord said unto Moses, Lo, I (will) come unto thee in a thick CLOUD that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee forever.

And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick CLOUD upon the mount...

And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God…

And the Lord came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount; and the Lord called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.

And the Lord said unto Moses…I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written…

And Moses went into the midst of the CLOUD…Exodus 19; 24

During the next forty years (after the giving of the Ten Commandments), God’s Cloud guided the Israelites to the Promised Land by appearing on their tabernacle and then being taken up in the direction of Canaan:

Then a CLOUD covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle… And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the CLOUD abode thereon, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle… For the CLOUD of the Lord was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
Exodus 40

The Jews finally reached the Promised Land in c. 1200 BC and established a great civilization that stood for centuries. During the next several centuries, the Cloud appeared before and made contact with a number of Jewish prophets, imparting to each one messages of cultural and spiritual wisdom. Prophet Ezekiel describes his close encounter with the Cloud of God:

Now it came to pass…as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God....And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great CLOUD, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it…

Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man…and I heard a voice of one that spake. And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel.... Ezekiel 1;2

About a thousand years later, in 30 AD, the Bible says the Cloud suddenly appeared and announced that Jesus Christ was His son:

While he yet spake, behold, a bright CLOUD overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the CLOUD, which said, This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased…

And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces, and were sore afraid. And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
Mathew 17

The fact that the Cloud on the U. S. Coat of Arms contains thirteen stars shaped like the Star of David, a symbol of Yahweh and the religion of Judaism, leaves us with little doubt that indeed the Founding Fathers designed it to be an artistic representation of the ancient appearances of God (Yahweh) on earth. As the above passages show, the Bible is certainly clear and consistent in its descriptions of God’s Cloud.

But the question is, why? What compelled the Founding Fathers to memorialize, in the chief symbols of their fledgling nation, the mysterious vehicle that specifically denotes God’s physical manifestations? None of America’s patriarchs were zealously religious men. Why, then, depict a portrait of God’s airborne chariot?

Cassaro suggests they did it because their perception of God was somehow different from the common perception of God, and because they sought to memorialize, in the secret language of symbol, their beliefs on the nature of God’s existence.

But if Cassaro is correct, then who is this strange God of the Founding Fathers? And how is their God different from our (concept of) God?

For centuries theologians have believed simply that the God of the Bible was the manifestation on earth of the Creator of the Universe. Cassaro argues that the Founding Fathers didn’t exactly agree with this point of view. In The Deeper Truth he describes what he says is a much more archaic and a far less anthropocentric doctrine on the nature of God’s existence, a doctrine he maintains was once widely known throughout the ancient world. This doctrine states that the God of the Bible was not the manifestation on earth of the Creator of the Universe, but was, instead, the manifestation of a highly evolved (intellectually and spiritually) Being or Demiurge who exists inside the dimensions of the cosmos and who is intricately intertwined with the history and destiny of mankind. (This God is One intelligence that is made up of Three contributing forms or parts; hence the representations throughout the ancient world of God as a Trinity.)

If indeed this kind of God does exist, then one of the greatest riddles of modern science becomes solved: Mankind, it would turn out, is not alone in space after all; other intelligent life (God) has now been discovered.

That’s exactly what Cassaro suggests the Founding Fathers may have believed. And he presents surprising evidence to support his extraordinary claim.

ANCIENT ORDER OF FREE AND ACCEPTED MASONS

Though most Americans don’t realize it, many of the Founding Fathers were members of a mysterious secret society that once flourished in the American colonies and that still exists to this day. It’s known as the Masonic Fraternity, an oath-bound fraternal organization of men who organize periodically in a lodge to perform clandestine rituals and discuss occult doctrine. Past Masons include George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, James Monroe, John Hancock, Paul Revere, Samuel Adams and many other leaders of the American Revolution.

According to historians, the Masonic Fraternity was founded for the purpose of vouchsafing a heretical secret regarding the nature of God’s existence. Most modern Masons would agree with this description. However, many lament that that heretical secret is no longer known.

In recent years some Masons have written books attempting to solve the riddle of Freemasonry by re-discovering this lost secret. In one such book, authors Christopher Knight and Robert Lomas, both Masons, explain: “When we were made freemasons we both underwent the process experienced by every initiate to the Craft for at least two hundred and fifty years. As part of these ceremonies we were asked to swear, as men of honor, that we would not divulge any of the secrets of Freemasonry to the outside world…” 1

However, Knight and Lomas go on to say: “Not only are the origins of Freemasonry no longer known, but the ‘true secrets’ of the Order are admitted to have been lost, with ‘substituted secrets’ being used in their place in the masonic ceremony, ‘until such time as they are re-discovered.’” 2

Although the “true secrets” of Freemasonry may longer be known, one thing is certain: Whatever these secrets were, they were viewed as blasphemous by the Roman Catholic Church, which, throughout history, has opposed and scorned the fraternity. The Order has been angrily criticized in more papal bulls and encyclicals than any other secular organization in history. In the bull Humanum Genus Pope Leo XIII condemned Masonry as a “wicked force,” a “contagious disease,” and a “poison, which spreads widely among the Nations.” Masonry has been, and is today, outlawed in many countries.

Author and Masonic historian John J. Robinson summed up the secrecy of the fraternity well: “…disagreement with the teachings of the church, and fear of punishment by the church, were the factors that kept Freemasonry alive, and desperately secret, for several centuries.” 3

What exactly is the lost secret of Masonry that seems to have threatened the stability of organized religion and undermined the authority of the Roman Catholic Church? Was it in some way related to this odd concept on the nature of God’s existence that Cassaro suggests the Founding Fathers believed? Was it in some way related to the idea of a superior – though not supreme – Tripartite God?

The Freemason’s Monitor, 1859

A possible answer may lie in one of the Order’s chief symbols: A mysterious single eye hovering in the sky shining with rays of light. The eye hovers alone, with neither a shape nor a form beneath it, watching over the earth. Freemasons describe the symbol as the “Eye of God.” In The Deeper Truth, Cassaro theorizes it shows that a superior form of intelligent life that has long remained unseen by the inhabitants of the earth has been watching over the cultural and spiritual development of humanity – perhaps since the Genesis of man and civilization.
