The V sign is a hand gesture in which the index and middle fingers are raised and parted, whilst the remaining fingers are clenched. Generally considered a victory sign, it can also carry connotations of peace and defiance.
The V sign has a colourful history. To begin with: "V" is the Roman sign for the number five and Adam Weishaupt used it in the Illuminati to symbolise the "Law of Fives". In the Cabala: the meaning of the Hebrew letter for V (Van) is 'Nail' (Now).
The 'Nail' is one of the secret titles of Satan with the Brotherhood of Satanism. Satan is letting us know that this is one of his favourite signs. Why else does he like the Five-fold salute used in Masonry and witchcraft?
Leftists, radicals and satanists who are believed to have popularised that sign…know its ancient significance pretty well. To this day, the V sign is used extensively by such communists as the Young Socialist Alliance, Vets for Peace in Vietnam and the Students for a Democratic Society.
It is also presumed to have been used as a symbol of satanic benediction during rituals in the 17th Century. The sign was also used frequently by Yasser Arafat (former Palestinian president), Richard Nixon (former US President) and Winston Churchill (former British Prime Minister) to foster their political image. Churchill said the sign stood for victory, but it should not be forgotten that he was a Mason. He most probably knew the evil significance of the sign but tried to give it a facelift.
Known as the "peace sign" throughout the 1960s and into the present day, word abounds that the 1950s peace advocate Gerald Holtom was commissioned by communist sympathisers to design a symbol that unites Leftist peace marchers in 1958, and the V sign is what he conceived.
The symbol's origin in history proves it to be the visual mystic character for 'Aum' (the split 'Y'). This is a sacred word to the Hindu. Chanting 'Aum' is supposed to help awaken the 'serpent power of Brahma' at the base of the human spine. Occultist Albert Pike also identifies this symbol as mystical in his book on Freemasonry and Dogma.
Also called the ‘broken cross’, ‘crow's foot’, ‘witch's foot’, ‘Nero cross’, ‘sign of the broken Jew’ and the ‘symbol of the anti-Christ’, the V sign is actually a cross with arms broken.
German tribes who used it in the ancient days attributed strange and mystical properties to it. It is said to have been used by black magicians in pagan incantations and condemnations.
To this day, the inverted broken cross - identical to the Socialists' peace symbol - is known in Germany as 'Todersrune' or death rune. Not only was it ordered by Hitler's National Socialists that it must appear on German death notices, but it was part of the official inscription prescribed for gravestones of Nazi officers.
The symbol suited Nazi emphasis on pagan mysticism. Away from its atheistic implications, the proverbial V sign is a typical computer boot sector virus. It infects DOS boot sectors on diskettes and Master Boot records on hard disks.
It is only able to infect hard disks when you boot a machine with an infected diskette in Drive A. Once the V sign gets resident to memory, it will infect practically all un-write-protected diskettes used in the machine. V sign doesn't preserve the original boot sector when it infects a disk and activates after infecting 64 diskettes. At this point, it will display a large V-shaped letter and hang the machine.
In the UK, if the hand is held out with the palm towards the person performing the gesture (a peace sign reversed), this is considered to be an insult. The "two fingered salute", as it is also known, is traditionally performed by flicking the V upwards from wrist or elbow.
The "finger" is traceable to Roman times, but is almost certainly unrelated in origin, as it is largely restricted to the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia and Spain, where it is popular among taxi drivers in Madrid. The insulting V sign is not widely recognised in the United States.
