Some of the copies obtained by the press showed an appearance of a ghost-like figure behind a boy in a picture.
The copies of the picture have frightened several primary children and they were even scared to use school toilets.
A primary school headmaster who declined to be named said the students were told not to believe in such stories.
In response to the matter, the National Union of the Teaching Profession has urged teachers and parents to explain and educate students on the non-existence of ghosts.
Its president Tengku Habsah Tengku Petera said it could be the work of irresponsible people who wanted to frighten and cause panic among students.
She urged the authorities to take action against those who circulated the copies.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Larut Matang and Selama district police said they have not received any reports so far.
