Ghosts Beat Up Pupils At Kenyan School

Nairobi (AFP) - - Two boarding schools in central Kenya have been closed following an alleged invasion by ghosts who beat pupils in one of the schools and stoned dormitories in the other, a local newspaper reported Tuesday.

The Daily Nation said Gitogo co-education secondary school in the Kinangop area of Central Province was closed on Friday morning after a night of terror by marauding ghosts, who attacked the boys and caused a stampede in the school.

Some of the pupils were taken to hospital with injuries following the attack, the paper quoted a senior police officer in the area as saying.

Ghosts also raided Kambaa girls secondary school in Kiambu district on Saturday night and threw stones at the roofs of the dormitories, according to the paper.

The girls, who claimed that a member of staff was responsible for the invasion by evil spirits, were sent home on Sunday.
