NO-ONE SAW THROUGH FAMOUS GHOST PHOTO |

An East Kilbride man has confessed that a ghostly image set to feature on a top paranormal show, is a fake.
The photograph, purporting to show a Victorian girl standing by a chair in the attic of an old Aberdeen house, is currently circulating the worldwide web, as a genuine ghostly apparition.
It is also to feature in a top US show on the Sci-fi Channel as the moment a ghost was caught on camera.
So good was the Calderwood ghostbuster’s effort, it actually came second in an internet poll for the best ghost photo.
However, the Ballochmyle man who took the picture says it is doctored and was only meant as a laugh to fool friends.
This apparent ‘ghost in the attic’ is actually a clever bit of computer wizardry by East Kilbride man Scott Sandlan.
Scott Sandlan, 28, says he cannot believe so many people believe it is the real thing.
The web designer said: “I’ve always loved horror films and came up with the idea after visiting a friend in Aberdeen and watching the film, ‘The Grudge’.
“It’s about a ghost which lives in a loft, and after watching it, I went into my pal’s loft and took a picture.
“I then got another picture of a Victorian girl and merged the two.
“It only took me five minutes on my computer.
“I convinced my pal and some other friends it was the real thing, just for a laugh, and posted it on my Bebo page.
“I soon told them it was all a joke, but my ghost photo was getting thousands of hits and all these comments about it.
“The next thing I knew the producers of the show called ‘Children of the Grave’ contacted me and asked if they could use it.
“I didn’t have the heart to tell them it was a fake, and said okay.”
The clip now features on a DVD of the show and will be broadcast on American TV in March.
It is also at the centre of a hot topic for discussion among supernaturalists on the internet.
The former Duncanrig pupil continued: “I must admit I feel a bit guilty that so many people have been taken in, but it was only meant as a joke.
“Some people clearly take these things far too seriously.
“One comment on the net said they felt a presence when looking at the picture.”
He added: “I’ve always wanted to believe in ghosts, but the truth is, I don't think they exist.”
