TUBA, Philippines -- "Disturbed and irked" spirits of Japanese Imperial Army soldiers who "possessed" more than a dozen high school students Thursday last week are no longer angry, a school official said Friday.
Apparently appeased by rituals performed by a Benguet high priest, the spirits--through 15 students--wanted to tell they were "irked" by the construction of a school extension building that reportedly disturbed their "resting place", have stopped "possessing" students of Tuba National High School.
Macarthy Malanes, administrator and principal of the government school said, "the spirits were appeased by the display of prayers of elders, religious leaders and the community."
On June 5 at 11 am, 14 students reportedly displayed paranormal behavior, vice mayor Val Carantes.
The school building extension being built has a footing, said Carantes, that strikes a huge boulder. "It is normal now," said Malanes, adding, that the P4 million Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) school building extension will continue.
