Ghost detectives claim a paranormal prescence could be lurking in an abandoned lighthouse.
The Pathfinders Paranormal team staged a night-time vigile at on Talacre lighthouse on Saturday in a bid to dig deep into the myths that surround ghostly sightings.
It is the first time anyone has been allowed access into the building since 1883.
They were called in after a number of people reported seeing the figure of a man standing at the top of the lighthouse, despite the fact it has been locked for more than 100 years.
In a bid to unlock it's ghostly secret the team spent all night at the building, armed with a combination of hi-tech surveillance equipment and traditional Victorian spiritualism.
Paul Jowatt, who led the team, said: "The lighthouse has never been investigated before. The building was a lot bigger than we thought it would be, it’s spread out over five levels so it was very intriguing.
"We set up all the equipment in one of the rooms and one of our team members said she could sense an uneasy in there and on a couple of the other floors.
Cameras
During the séance a few of the team had some feelings and the EMF metre, which picks up electromagnetic field, was showing readings. At one point I stood up and whatever it was seemed to be travelling in a circle around the group.
"We have also picked up some readings on our sound equipment. The tapes still have to be reviewed to rule out any noise the team were making but we think we might have picked up some laughter and someone's name being called out."
The team will now review their findings and submit a report to the Talacre Beach Group in a bid to establish whether or not there is a ghost in the lighthouse.
Paul added: "There were some things that cannot be explained such as the EMF readings, there is no power or electrics in the building but it was picking an electromagnetic prescence up and there is nothing that could cause flashing lights. Whatever it is there is definitely something in there."
