VANCOUVER -- A Vancouver man has made hunting down ghosts his personal mission.
Michael Taylor is part of a group known as "SW Washington Paranormal Investigations"
Taylor has taken some unusual photos at a Battle Ground Cemetery, and believes they can change people's opinions about ghosts.
"I think seeing this you'll definitely believe that there is something out there."
Taylor believes the smoke in the photos is actually partially formed ghosts known as spirit mist.
He thinks he captured the form of a woman holding a baby in another image.
Taylor often tries to talk to the spirits.
"What I've encountered is you don't typically hear their response," said Taylor. "It's such a very low sound."
That's where digital recorders come in.
Taylor made a recording at the Battle Ground Cemetery of an EVP --- short for electronic voice phenomenon. He believes he made contact with the ghost of a young girl.
Taylor believes the garbled audio recording says: "Michael. We are right here with you."
Taylor started investigating paranormal activity four years ago and has conducted investigations at sites all over the Northwest.
Taylor says he has heard voices and whispering on investigations and he's even felt something touch his head and face.
"It's very humbling when you're at a location and you do encounter a spirit," said Taylor. To me it's very humbling. And we're very respectful and i believe that's the number one key item. You have to be respectful of where you're at."
Taylor has run into plenty of people who have doubts about his evidence.
"I've had a few skeptics go with me on some haunted sites and they have changed their mind," he said. "But I respect everyone's opinion in this field."
Taylor also wants people to make up their own mind about the paranormal realm.
