After being molested by the mysterious being for sometime, the teachers have appealed to the government to come to their aid.
The state-owned Radio Botswana reported Thursday that the ghost, locally known as "Tokolosi", has been stealing money and sexually abusing female teachers at Shakawe primary school, while they are asleep.
The teachers alleged that the ghost began terrorising the school in June 1999 when staff and the school administration started losing money mysteriously.
The situation assumed alarming proportion recently when school authorities reported the disappearance of thousands of pula kept in a locked safe.
The safe was not damaged, leading to the widespread belief a ghost was at work.
At the same time one teacher claimed that the ghost sexually molested her six-year-old daughter and expressed fears that the female teachers might contract the HIV through the mysterious being.
The school's headmistress was quoted as saying that they have sought the help of traditional doctors and spiritual healers to help them find the money and scare the ghost.
She said that the traditional doctors have told them that one of the teachers owned the mysterious ghost.
The teachers have appealed to the education ministry to act fast to ensure their safety.
But the authorities have told the teachers to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their hands as the matter is being looked into.
This is not the first time that claims of mysterious beings molesting teachers and other people in Botswana has been made.
In 1999, female teachers at a school nearly abandoned their duties after claims that a mysterious being was having sexual intercourse with them during their sleep.
