NIGERIAN PROPHETESS CLAIMS ROCKS DISPLAY ANGEL FOOTPRINTS

(Original headline: Mysterious footprints believed to be that of angels where the low and mighty meet with God )

The name of the community where the Ayomikun Miracle Centre is situated is quite in line with its remoteness. But when Sunday Tribune visited, out of curiosity, it became clear that Isale Aba Amuloko though hitherto cut out of the city, has over time opened up playing host to quite a large number of new land developers.

Before development smiled on the community and perhaps unknown to the aborigines, some part of the lands which for a long time, was shrouded in thick forest was spiritually blessed. Before its encroachment by the heavenly hosts, according to the prophetess, Mrs. Alice Olasupo, who oversees the spiritual activities on the sacred land, “I was made to believe that it was the spot where Kiriji war took off.”

How did Prophetess Olasupo get in contact with the land? asked Sunday Tribune and she said, “it was through the directive of the holy spirit.” According to her, when I decided to heed the call of God after many years of playing pranks, I started a church, christened, Christ Gospel Apostolic Church in a small building behind NEPA office at Olorunsogo, Ibadan. Not quite long, the membership boomed and we needed a land that the church could call its own and where a church building could be erected. We prayed about it and God directed us to Amuloko community.

“On getting there, we drove along the untarred dusty road in between a very thick forest.” Mysteriously, at a point, on the spot leading to the sacred land now named Oke Agunla, she claimed to hear a voice instructing her to branch into the forest and locate some rocks already marked for the ministry. The confirmation of what she heard came when on entering the forest, the rocks were with footprint believed to be those of angels which she said God told her to watch out for.

When Sunday Tribune visited the mountain, the footprints though bereft of fingerprints that could authenticate the claim, the conspicuous arrangement of the foot marks in their natural pairs on the plain solid rock with all the contours present could convince any doubting Thomas. Apart from that, the angels’ choice of the plain rock amongst others made the claim appear too natural to dispute. On the sacred mountain are various types of rocks most of which are uncomfortable to stand on – a feature most of those met on the mountain said could be the reason the angels ignored them for the plain sprawling ones.

But why would God prefer to dwell in Igbo Kurunmi where the prophetess said series of fetish materials were exhumed during the process of sanctification and dedication remains a riddle the servant of God would rather prefer to leave for God. She could however vividly recall a certain prayer session organised on the mountain at the beginning of the ministry when a serious whirlwind pulled up and knocked down one of the prayer warriors who had to be revived after few hours in coma. “The voice I heard after the encounter clearly showed that the Lord chose the place to destroy the stronghold of the devil,” she explained.

Today, the site of the mysterious rock, which the prophetess said the original owner of the land initially knew nothing about is a bee-hive of spiritual activities. The mysterious footprints play host to thousands of people from all walks of life. On the mountain, the spectacle when the ministry is in full session is usually too beautiful to behold. There, those who have strong belief in the efficacy of the footprints at solving their spiritual problems do always sprinkle the stagnant rain water in the footprints on their heads muttering some prayers in the process. “There are cases when people from other denominations, especially the white garment church members come to scratch the surface of the footprints for use in their churches,” said Baba Ijo, a retired senior police officer who does not want his name in print. “It was to preserve the prints from being destroyed that people are now restricted from using the place indiscriminately”, said the chairman.

Since the discovery of the mysterious footprints, the prophetess and some visitors to the mountain Sunday Tribune spoke with explained the signs and wonders that have accompanied their visit to the site. One of the interesting stories was that of one Bola Fatai who said his fruitless search for a child after marrying 15 wives came to an end when he visited the mountain. “I got introduced to this wonder land when a doctor said that the fifteenth wife who got pregnant for me after several years was only carrying a fibroid. After series of prayer sessions, the fibroid, to the amazement of the doctor, turned into a baby girl.

Another Mr. Oladosu who is now a deacon said, before he met the prophetess on the mountain, “I had gone deeply into charms making. My wife was seriously ill and there was no where I did not go to get her healed.” “Surprisingly, when all efforts failed and the woman suddenly suffered from insomania somebody introduced me to this place (Oke Agunla) where I later had to abandon my wife. The instruction of the prophetess that I leave my wife with her on the mountain gave me a great relief.”

When few days later, I was called upon to see her, I could not believe what I saw. My wife at the time I got there was asleep; when she woke up, she was completely healed.” “When she later became pregnant and the doctor at Oluyoro hospital Ibadan recommended ceasarian operation, I took her to the mountain where she was prayed for and given water to drink.

She was later delivered of a set of twins without any complication. When we got back to the hospital, the doctor expressed surprise and enjoined us to be more prayerful.” Another woman, Mrs. Adeniran also testified to the miraculous work of God on the mountain which she said convinced her “that the angels that left their marks on the rock still visit the spot.” In her own case, she discovered that she was bedevilled with strange illness which crippled her until “I met with Jesus on this mountain.”

To preserve the sacredness of the mountain, according to Prophetess Olasupo, who is always proud to speak of her close relationship with Prophet Obadare before the establishment of her church, members and visitors to the mountain, out of spiritual consciousness often pull off their shoes afar before stepping into the mysterious footprints arena. When asked to name some of the prominent personalities that patronise the sacred mountain, the amiable prophetess who was in spiritual ectasy making revelations to a sea of people when Sunday Tribune stepped on the mountain, said part of spiritual maturity is to keep identities of visitors and their problems strictly confidential. According to her, they come to consult God and not herself.
