The group’s mission is simple. SEWPERnatural founder Adam Margaros says, “We want to find out about things, find out about things that everybody told me don’t exist, and that’s what we want to find out.”
On one recent night the SEWPERnatural headed to 5732 13th Court in Kenosha.
Some 150 years ago a man named John McCaffrey murdered his wife Bridgette in the backyard of the home. His later execution was the first and only one in Wisconsin.
According to paranormal historian David Schmickel, “At one o’clock in the afternoon he was hung. If you go a mile south of here, that’s basically where it happened.”
Schmickel said reports of strange activity at the McCaffrey house started immediately. “I don’t think there’s anything going on here now, but I really believe at one time the neighbors were right and her ghost was around here.”
But other members of the SEWPERnatural team think the ghost of Bridgette McCaffrey may still be there.
Armed with a compass, a tape recorder and a camera, they made the trek to the McCaffrey house.
Their first stop was the cellar.
While Adam Margaros listened for ghosts, the other members of the team searched for electromagnetic disturbances.
They didn’t find anything unusual but the team did take several rolls of film.
Days later the pictures came back. One showed a peculiar mist hovering near a headstone. We show it to Tom Larson, the owner of the “haunted” house. He just laughed and said, “(It) doesn’t prove anything to me.”
The experts weren’t sold either. David Schmickel said, “I’m not saying it isn’t interesting, I’m just saying it would be torn to pieces by an expert.”
But that doesn’t bother the guys at SEWPERnatural. They want you to decide. “(You) be the judge,” Margaros said. “But we do have some pretty cool stuff going on.”
If you think your house is haunted, SEWPERnatural will come check it out for free.

Looking for Ghosts in Kenosha, Wis
Kenosha – Wisconsin has a rich history of hauntings. Now one group is out to prove that ghosts exist. They are called the “SEWPERnatural” or Southeast Wisconsin Paranormal Exploratory Research.
