CROP WATCH 2002
SINGLE CIRCLE FORMATION - RADVILLE, SASKATCHEWAN;
UPDATE - WEYBURN, MIDALE,
LIMEHOUSE AND MISSION FORMATIONS
Single circle reported by pilot and CCCRN field
research assistant John
Erickson near Radville, Saskatchewan. Further details
pending. This is the
thirteenth report for 2002.
Some of my initial scan photos of stalk node anomalies
(canary seed crop)
from the Weyburn, Saskatchewan formation have been
posted to the web site,
showing swollen (primarily on one side of the stalk),
torn and ruptured
nodes from inside formation compared with normal
control nodes from outside
formation. Also, some of the evening photos I took
inside the formation
have interesting multiple BOLs ('balls of light') in
them, some quite large
and bright; these will be posted also asap. Possibly
flash reflections from
mosquitoes or dust, but they are another anomaly to be
studied further in
any case.
Ground examination and aerial photos of the Midale,
Saskatchewan formation
have shown that a small sixth circle was added to the
cluster of five
existing circles near the larger ring sometime between
the initial report
August 17 and the CCCRN ground / air studies done on
September 4 (as well
as many paths by visitors!). Additional aerial and
ground photos will be
posted asap.
Subsequent recent ground photos taken at the Limehouse,
Ontario formation
by CCCRN field research assistant Matt Rock show a
pronounced 'greening' of
the cut crop (wheat) inside the flattened areas of the
formation. Some of
these have been posted to the web site.
Also re the two Mission, BC formations in corn, the
landowner has denied
further investigation by CCCRN or anyone else after
consultation with his
family. Sampling for lab studies will therefore not be
possible, especially
unfortunate as formations in the Fraser Valley area
here near Vancouver are
very rare, almost unheard of. There is also a rumour
that these were
'Signs'-related creations by local youth and there is a
movie complex
nearby. Additional photos to be posted for these
formations asap as well.
The Media page has also been updated again, with
further listings including
a front page story in the Calgary Herald newspaper
(September 5),
additional filming by Partners in Motion (Regina, SK)
for an upcoming
program on the Canadian circles in Spring of 2003
(tentatively for the
Discovery Channel), as well as previously noted major
pieces including the
soon upcoming Star Dreams documentary this fall
(Space), the Unsolved
Mysteries program in the US on the 2001 Canadian
circles (August 2), a
feature cover story in Prairie Dog (July 25, Regina,
SK), and others.
