CROP WATCH 2002
DOUBLE RINGED CIRCLE - WEYBURN, SASKATCHEWAN
(I have just returned from spending the past week
investigating the
formations at Weyburn and Midale, Saskatchewan, for
Crop Watch 2002. Field
reports, additional aerial and ground photos and
diagrams coming soon - PA).
Double ringed circle with attached short curved pathway
/ circle in canary
seed crop, approximately 21.5 metres (71 feet)
diameter. Inner ring /
circle offset from centre. Counterclockwise lay of crop
in rings and centre
circle; clockwise splayed 'bird's nest' lay around
centre of small attached
circle, overlapping underlying clockwise lay in rest of
circle which
continued from flow in joining pathway. Small satellite
ring nearby. A few
swollen / ruptured nodes. Initially discovered August 5
by farmer (not
known about until September 4), although still in
relatively good condition
by the time the CCCRN ground study was done on
September 4 / 5.
Initial aerial photos have been posted on the web site.
This is the tenth report for 2002.
