It may be a dog...it may be an unknown species, an experiment or it may be a prank, but one thing is for sure - the "Montauk Monster" is giving everyone the chills.

It was reported this morning that an unknown creature that slightly resembles a dog washed up on the beach in Montauk, NY.

Rumors are swirling that the creature may be an experiment from the United States Department of Agriculture's Plum Island animal testing facility gone terribly wrong.

That's not the only theory floating around - Others are saying it may be a prank related to a Cartoon Network show.

Some believe that this creature is a turtle without a shell - or even a skinned pig.
