  CLOSE SIGHTING OF B.C. PUMA

Hi folks!

I thought you might be interested in these two close-up sightings of a so called "black panther" or puma as witnessed by my sister. These two sightings are seemingly unrelated and separated by time [10+years] and distance [Alta. and B.C.] This was related to me this a.m.[Aug.29/03] as I was over on a quick visit. I don't know how this arose in the chit-chat, but here goes-

About a month or more ago, my sis, bro-in law, and my parents, who are quite elderly, decided to make a quicky driving trip from Kamloops [where we all reside] B.C. to Edmonton, Alta. It was early morning, clear day [somewhere between Blue river and Clearwater B.C. [she didn't give a specific location] the only traffic at the time was a car pulling a trailer ahead of them [one old gent occupant, I believe].

Just around a bend in the highway his brakelights came on and he came to a graduated stop. For a couple of minutes they stared ahead wondering what was up. Then their collective jaws dropped! Here crossing the highway ahead of them was the largest cat they had ever seen!

She described it to me as being jet black in color, roughly 9ft in length tip-to tip and being of musculature as to portray a "slinky" [?] appearance as it moved across the highway and finally disappeared into the opposite woods. She said it had a rather broad head but what was more striking was the long "sinuous"[for lack of a better word!] tail. I estimated her viewing distance as being not much more than three car lengths [pickup+car+trailer] She also said that the creature seemed unconcerned and never gave them so much as a glance!

The sighting in Alta. yrs. ago was very similar, but this time she was alone. This is the first time I have heard these incidents, and I think she related these to me because for many years I have been interested in Fortean subjects.

.:Thanks to:.
