BRITISH BIG CAT TALES :.
MYSTERY BIG CAT LURKING AROUND SCOTTISH CITY

(Original headline: Dundee big cat sighting )

A Dundee woman has become the latest person to spot a mysterious big cat lurking in the city.

Pam Taylor was out walking her dog with a friend on Thursday night when she came across the panther-like creature.

Mrs Taylor said her German shepherd took off at speed when they spotted the black cat at the back of Strathmartine Bowling Club, Rosemill.

She said, “We were in the field at the back and the grass is quite long, I think the cat had been crouched down in the long grass and my dog startled it.

“We were closer than 100 yards and you could tell that it was big animal.

“It wasn’t a dog because as soon as the dog got near it took off.

“It was off in a flash, almost cheetah-like in the way it sped off.”

Mrs Taylor said she was a regular walker in the area and had seen paw prints in recent weeks, which she now assumed belonged to the cat.

“There’s a muddy patch where you can see the prints and I’ve noticed on quite a few occasions these prints where you can make out the pad and then the claws two or three inches from the pad.

“It’s quite a deep print.”

The Scottish Big Cats Investigations group, which started up this year, is convinced there are at least two big cats prowling around the Dundee area.

The investigation group will visit the Dundee area next weekend gathering information for their research.

Anyone who sights a big cat should contact Sandy at Big Cats Scotland on 01505 872482 or 07947 195785.
