(Original Headline: Another sighting of 'wildcat of the Wolds' )
Another sighting has been recorded of a mysterious big cat thought to be prowling the area.
On Saturday evening a man had been driving along the A614 when he claimed a large creature stepped out into the road and crossed infront of his vehicle.
Kenneth Pinney, of Derby, had been travelling along the stretch of road between the Shiptonthorpe roundabout and Holme-on-Spalding Moor at about 6.30pm when the creature emerged from the roadside bushes.
"I was driving towards the M62 to get home when it ran straight out infront of me, although I did manage to avoid it.
"It happened so quickly I never really thought about stopping.
"But it was so big that it looked to take up about half of the road on one side.
"It was not black, it looked more like a dark brown colour perhaps, and it was definitely not a dog."
In January a similar creature was spotted by a zoologist in Allerthorpe Common.
Humberside Police backed up the claim saying they have had numerous calls from people claiming to have spotted a large feline creature.
It is thought the animals could have been exotic pets which have grown too large for the owners to handle and freed.
They would be able to survive on wild rabbits, foxes, hares and other mammals.
Anyone who does spot one is being asked to keep a safe distance.
