BIG CAT HUNTER TRACKS ANIMALS ALONG ENGLISH/WELSH BORDER

Original headline:
Help Danny to track mystery black cat

It's twice the size of a domestic cat and now it’s a killer – but what is it?

That’s the puzzle for Danny Nineham, the man determined to track down the mystery animals spotted in the Forest and Wye Valley over the past decade.

There have been reports from all parts of the district, but several in the Chepstow area have recently caused him concern.

In the latest incident university lecturer Stephen Dalton, who lives in Lower Church Street, saw the animal take a guinea pig and leap over an eight feet high wall.

It is black and bigger than a domestic cat but not as big as any of the big cats reported elsewhere.

“It’s a mysrery. There have been several other sightings in the Chepstow area and for the moment I do not have a clue what it could be,” said Mr Nineham.

He wants people who catch sight of the animal to contact him immediately.

“It’s important to be on the scene as soon as possible as weather can play an important part and wash away evidence such as paw prints,” he explained.

•Danny can be contacted on 0779 0667327.
