Doug Herrington discovered this rock just over five years ago. Not even the least observant could fail to note it bears an uncanny resemblance to a human head. Here's what Doug has to say:
"I am 'Doug the sign guy'. I have a billboard sign business in the Central Valley of California. My home is nestled on the bank of The Ancient Kings River. This area is rich farmland with very few rocks, other than stone tools left behind by the early travelers, who called this area the Healing Place. Since childhood I have been gifted to see anomalies in nature that most people overlook. While out walking in January of the year 2000, I found a softball size metamorphic rock and took it home. Other than its exceptional beauty I saw nothing out of the ordinary in the rock that sat next to my bed for two years.
"One morning I awoke to see the rock in a new light. The rock had the appearance of a small human skull. I picked the rock up for a closer look as I had done many times before. As I turned the rock, a man’s face appeared to be chiseled on the right side of the skull. Turning the rock to the left side of the skull, the face of an old Indian man appeared molded in the rock.
"I had the three faces of the rock photographed. While studying the pictures I noticed icons were starting to appear in the patina of the rock. Some of the icons were obvious, others took some study to find, and I believe some remain hidden, for now.
"I’ve shown the pictures to several of my friends and associates; thankful that they could see the anomalies as well.
Three well-known appraisers have studied the rock, and agree on the value, 'priceless', with one going as far to say it may be the most profound find of the Twenty First Century.
"I would like to share this priceless gift with you. I wish not to taint what you may or may not see in the picture of the rock. You may see something not yet uncovered. Please closely study the picture, and then read on and follow along with my eyes.
"This is what I see. Chiseled in the rock is the face of a man who bears a strong resemblance to Mr. Magoo, the bumbling near-sighted cartoon character. On his cheek, like a detailed plate painting, appears a seascape. In the foreground of the picture, a big fish tail is seen breaching the turbulent waters and becomes the stern of a boat. Sitting in the middle of the boat is a man wearing a mask. Rising up from the bow of the boat, a horned owl is sitting next to a white parrot. Behind the man in the boat I see the landscape of a large bay. On the right hand (East) side of the bay I see a mountain shrouded in a mist. At the base of the mountain, white waves crash onto the shore. As my eye travels across the dark waters to the left, an island emerges from the seas, and birds fly overhead. Hidden at the top of the rock, a shawl covers the head and shoulder of a woman who appears to be praying, as she cradles a baby with an angelic wing protruding from it’s neck. A wound over the baby’s heart is bleeding, and its face is filled with fear. To the left of the baby’s sunken eyes appears a very peaceful Third Eye. As I rotate the picture 180 degrees, the face of Mr. Magoo morphs into the likeness of the profile of Alfred Hicthcock, known for mystery and the words “Good Evening”. On his chin, is a Scottie dog.
"This is one of the stories I gleamed from the rock. On Christmas Eve, known as the 'Good Evening', a mystery unfolded. A 'Scottie' took a 'fishing boat' into the bay with an island known as “Bird Island”. When he returned home, he found his dog but not his pregnant wife. He sat next to a 'wise' reporter who asked 'cleaver' questions about his 'big fish tale'. Scottie answered like a rehearsed “parrot”. His wife and child’s bodies were washed to the East shore by the crashing waves, and a strand of plastic was found wrapped around the baby’s neck. When Scottie was arrested he was wearing a 'mask'(dyed hair and a goatee). He was represented by a 'bumbling near-sighted Mr.G' who said his Scottie was 'stone cold' innocent. In the picture I see a dark cloud hanging over the man in the boat and it appears to be raining. He is up to his neck in dark water, and the island of Alcatraz looms over his shoulder."
Update: "It has just come to light; a circular object has been seen in the silt at the bottom of the bay, just under the stern of the fishing boat. This new sighting adds more weight to a very heavy rock harbinger.
"The other two pictures of the rock each reveal clues from cases that are in the courts today, i.e. Michael, and Saddam. I will be releasing these pictures at the appropriate time.
"The rock's name is Rockadamus, because it is a 'Rock', the first man's face to appear was called 'Adam', and the two other faces make for the 'us', (Rock-a-dam-us).
"Rockadamus is a wonder to those needing signs; and a comfort to all, in these troubled times. The message he brings is set in stone; The Third Eye knows all; we are never alone."
