SOFIA (bnn)- Divers found an unknown to archeologists stone machine during underwater exploration in the Kavarna bay, state TV reported Wednesday.
Diving teams discovered the unique object at the foot of cape Chirakman in the bay of Kavarna, some 80 kilometers (50 miles) north from the Black Sea port of Varna.
For a second year now archeologists and divers explore the bay, which hosts the remains of an ancient town named Bizone from the first century B.C.
"We don’t know what it is yet, but it is probably from the sunken section of Bizone," Asen Salkin, Director of the Kavarna History Museum, said.
Divers will carry out another stage of the underwater expedition in September.
